Choose to Become What You Believe

“As Jesus left the house, he was followed by two blind men crying out, "Mercy, Son of David! Mercy on us!" When Jesus got home, the blind men went in with him. Jesus said to them, "Do you really believe I can do this?" They said, "Why, yes, Master! He touched their eyes and said, "Become what you believe." It happened.” Matt 9:27-29

Day after day for this long season, I am confronted with these words when I wake in the morning. “Become what you believe.” Tears spring to my eyes as I write those powerful words. I am finding that every minute I am faced with choices.

Choices about what to thoughts entertain. I am learning these thoughts truly do leave my heart and move to my hands and my lips. My actions then becoming a demonstrative testimony of my thoughts.

Do I think and act on the value God tells me I have?

"What's the price of a pet canary? Some loose change, right? And God cares what happens to it even more than you do. He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head! So don't be intimidated by all this bully talk. You're worth more than a million canaries." Matt 10:29-31

Do I fully give myself to things that matter to Him and to me?

"Stand up for Me against world opinion and I'll stand up for you before my Father in heaven. If you turn tail and run, do you think I'll cover for you?
"Don't think I've come to make life cozy. I've come to cut—make a sharp knife-cut between son and father, daughter and mother, bride and mother-in-law—cut through these cozy domestic arrangements and free you for God. Well-meaning family members can be your worst enemies. If you prefer father or mother over Me, you don't deserve Me. If you prefer son or daughter over me, you don't deserve Me. "If you don't go all the way with Me, through thick and thin, you don't deserve Me. If your first concern is to look after yourself, you'll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to Me, you'll find both yourself and Me." Matt 10:32-40

Do I act like I am made in the image of love?

"We are intimately linked in this harvest work. Anyone who accepts what you do, accepts Me, the One who sent you. Anyone who accepts what I do accepts my Father, who sent Me. Accepting a messenger of God is as good as being God's messenger. Accepting someone's help is as good as giving someone help. This is a large work I've called you into, but don't be overwhelmed by it. It's best to start small. Give a cool cup of water to someone who is thirsty, for instance. The smallest act of giving or receiving makes you a true apprentice. You won't lose out on a thing."
Matt 10:40-42

What story does your actions tell about you and your thoughts?

I can't tell you how much it meant for me to read this. It should be no surprise to any of us that when one speaks words concerning themselves and what God is teaching them, that those words will in turn reap blessings upon those who listen as well.

This reminds me of the sermon my pastor preached on Sunday. It was on Phil 4:8-9 Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on the things." Sermon titled "Think - Do"

Become what you believe. What do we believe about ourselves? What God says about us or how we feel that day?

Transformed by the renewing of your mind. You will only do what you already think. "As a man thinks in his heart so is he" Proverbs 23:7

Sermon notes: The way you think creates your attitudes, shapes your emotions and governs your behavior.

Your mind will think most about what it is exposed to.

What repeatedly enters your mind eventually shapes your thinking and ultimately expresses itself in your behavior.

He talked about he electrical pathways in the brain, the mental ruts that are created by what you think habitually. So if I think I am worthless and I can't do anything right. Which is a lie according to the truth in God's word. God says He loved me enough to die for me. I was worth it to Him. But taking that negative though captive and replacing it with truth. Telling myself the truth will create a new pathway. It will take some time and effort to get out of the old rut thinking. And form a Truth pathway in the brain. 2 Cor 10:5.
Here are the actions he gave to develope constructive ruts.

CATCH - take your thoughts captive. Are they pure and lovely? Or negative and complaining ect.?

REPLACE - Ps 73 is what I am telling myself instead of my lies. "God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever".

GUARD - Be very very careful about what you let into your head.

BUILD - New structure to help you create new ruts. Worship music, scripture reading, meditations on scripture, memorization of scripture ect.

Sorry so long. God Bless
